The term "play" refers to either the publication of the text or the performance of a theatrical work. Plays may be documented by scripts, programs, recordings of performances, cast photographs, reviews, etc.
Plays may include: a collection of Ashbery's works for the stage published in book form; a play by Ashbery published in a periodical; a play in which there exists a character "John Ashbery"; a play based on Ashbery's work ; a play in which Ashbery performs a role, etc.
