Format: Book
Books (or monographs) are defined as complete, separately issued, non-periodical publications. Individual titles that are issued as parts of ongoing monographic series (such as the Pushcart Prize or Best American Poetry annual volumes) are usually considered to be books rather than periodicals for the purposes of this catalogue. Similarly, pamphlets (i.e., complete, separately issued, non-periodical publications of between 5 and 49 pages) are categorized as books in this catalogue.
Generally, only the earliest publication in a particular format of any work available in the ARC archive is given a complete citation in the catalogue. Subsequent printings or editions of books usually are mentioned in the notes field of the entry for the earliest available edition. This procedure applies to Sections A, B, C, D, E, F and M. For more information, please see the statement on complete citations for earliest publication in the general tips chapter of this instruction manual.
