The instruction manual:

Bibliographic code: Section K3

Section K3 includes musical compositions based on, influenced by, or otherwise directly related to Ashbery or his work. Section K3 includes "interpretations" or "responses" as well as direct settings of texts.

Although Section K3 items are generally documented in the ARC archive by secondary materials such as programs, reviews and announcements, rather than by the musical compositions themselves, each citation is written for the musical work itself. The title of the composition is listed in the title and publication fields, the composer is listed in the author and author/editor fields, and the date of the composition's creation or premiere performance or recording is listed in the date of publication field. All information about the secondary materials that document these compositions is given in the notes field.

Usually each new audio recording, public performance or sheet music publication of a given work in K3 is given a separate citation, with supplementary materials (such as event programs, reviews, etc.) listed in the notes field. Multiple performances of a given work by the same musician or ensemble during the course of a tour receive a single citation.
